About Our Club...

The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area offers young people what they need and want most—adults who inspire, respect and listen to them, a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; find interesting, constructive activities that support the work of parents and schools, and channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits. Our youth development strategy employs caring, trained, professionals and tested programs to foster a sense of belonging and individual growth to build self-confidence and self-esteem.

Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances in the Bellport Area and increasingly from the South Shore, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area currently serves more than 800 members and many other youths are served by participating in activities annually. The Club is at the forefront of youth development, working with young people in six core areas: Personal & Educational Development, Citizenship & Leadership Development, Cultural Enrichment, Health & Physical Education, Social Recreation, and Outdoor & Environmental Education.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area has two additional units in addition to our Clubhouse located at 471 Atlantic Avenue. Open Monday through Friday, from 9 am until 9 pm, the Clubhouse provides a “safe place” for children and youth between the ages of 5 and 20 to gather. A caring and dedicated staff of twelve (12) full-time professional employees and thirteen (13) part-time employees are carefully screened and professionally trained in BGC programming which includes SMART Girls, Power Hour, After School Programs, Keystone Club, Youth Court and a Drop-in Lounge.

If you are interested in making an investment in our youth by volunteering your time or making a financial contribution, please visit us online at www.bgcbellport.org, or contact Tanya McKay at 631-286-9090. We would love to hear from you!

"Beach Ball" 2007

The Boys and Girls Club of the Bellport Area would like to thank everyone who attended and supported their 4th Annual Beach Ball, “Calypso Under The Stars.” Over 500 guests attended this successful event held at the waterfront home of former Massachusetts Governor William Weld and Leslie Marshall on Saturday, June 23rd. More than $200,000 was raised to support Club programs and activities! A special thank you goes out to their many volunteers and committee members who donated their time and talent and worked so hard to make this year’s event an amazing success! In addition, they’d like to thank their corporate sponsors and friends for their generous contributions. Click the photo to see more photos from the Beach Ball 2007 event!
