Submitting a photo for inclusion in Bellport.com's Photo Gallery is easy. All you have to do is select one or two of your best photographs, which were taken in or around the Bellport area, and email them to us. We will do our best to include as many photographs as possible, but we can't promise that we'll post every photo submitted. To be fair, for our photo contests only, we do limit everyone to a maximum of two photo submissions per person per contest.

Email the photos to: photos@bellport.com

Technically,
we are going to post the photos in a JPG format with a 1 pixel white line around each photograph. Horizontal shots will end up being 350 pixels wide and vertical shots will be 250 pixels wide. If you want complete control of your images, just submit them so that they meet these specs and we'll post them as received.

Now, if you don't have a clue as to what all of the above means, don't worry about it as we'll be glad to do all of the work for you. We'll be glad to color, density, and contrast correct the photos and then format them so that they meet the above specs. All you have to do is email the photos to us and we'll do the rest. For the best image quality, the size of the photos you submit should be larger than the above specifications.

A word about copyright. By sending us your photographs, you are in no way giving us any rights to do anything with your photographs other than to display them here on Bellport.com. We will not give anyone else any rights to your photographs nor will we use them in any other way without your permission.

However, you should understand that the internet, relatively speaking, is still the "Wild West" when it comes to maintaining control over your work. We've already had several instances of people copying material from Bellport.com and using it on their own websites. They removed the material when we politely pointed out to them that they can't do that, but the point is that you have to keep an eye out for abuses of the copyright rules. For this reason, Bellport.com can not be responsible for what other people do and how they use material they copy without permission from Bellport.com.

We have recently changed Bellport.com so that you are unable to "right-click" on any image on the site to copy or save it on your own computer. We hope that this will prevent most instances where someone would try to copy an image from Bellport.com. However, like we said above, if someone REALLY wants to copy an image from the internet, there is almost always a way to do so. No method of prevention is 100% fool-proof.

You should only submit photos if you understand and agree to the above. If you have any questions about any of this, we'd be glad to discuss them with you.
