In addition to affording a spectacular view of the Great South Bay, the
Village Marina boasts over 150 berths, including the specially
designated one for our Village-owned ferry, the Whalehouse Point.
At the present time, no "in-season" berths are
available. However, a waiting list has been established. If you'd like
to place your name on the boat-slip waiting list, please stop by the
Village Hall for more information. Please note that residents are given
priority. There is a one-time, non-refundable fee of $100 to
reserve your spot on the list.

Launching Ramp At The Marina
Personal Watercraft (PWC)
Personal Watercraft (PWC)
is defined as any motorized watercraft
that is 14 feet or less in hull length as manufactured, has as its
primary source of propulsion an inboard motor powering a jet pump and is
capable of carrying one or more persons in a sitting, standing or
kneeling position. "Personal watercraft" includes, but is not limited
to, a jet ski, wet bike, surf jet and miniature speedboat. "Personal
watercraft" also includes motorized watercraft whose operation is
controlled by a water skier. A Jet Ski is an inboard/outboard gas vehicle with an engine
exhaust above the waterline.
Jet Ski/Personal Watercraft (PWC) launching,
pick-up and discharge of passengers from the Village Marina will be
allowed provided the following conditions are met:
1. PWC must be registered and must comply with all
current Federal, NY State and U.S. Coast Guard requirements.
2. Launching is permitted only at the launching
ramp on the main dock.
3. Operation of the
PWC must be at least 500 feet
perpendicular to any shoreline, or structure within Village waters. The
exception to this rule is that the operator may depart or approach at a
speed no greater than 5 MPH, and the departure or approach must be for
the sole purpose of picking up or discharging passengers, or for the
removal of a PWC.
4. A limited number of launch permits will be
issued to village residents only at a fee ($125.00), which
was established by the Board of Trustees.
5. PWC
trailers must park in the area provided for trailers at the Village
Marina.
6. The Board reserves the right to revoke any
permit at their discretion, based upon operator performance which is not
in the best interests of the Village of
Bellport, as determined by the Board of Trustees.
7. Permits are valid only from May 1st through
October 31st of each year.
8. Launch decals must be clearly visible on
PWC and trailer.
9. Launching jet skis as defined in the
definitions code will not be allowed under any conditions at Bellport
Village Facilities.
