Senior Lunch At Sunset Harbor



Date: Thursday, November 6th
Time: 12:00pm-3:00pm
Location: Sunset Harbor, 90 Colonial Drive, East Patchogue

Enjoy lunch together at Sunset Harbor in East Patchogue, Thursday, November 6th from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Dr. Florence Myers, Professor at Adelphi University, will tell her beautiful story of travel from China to the U.S., “A Story of Gratitude.” Bring in your favorite photo or art picture (anything from our surrounding communities) to speak about. You are also asked to bring in canned and boxed food for the less fortunate. The cost for this event is $23 per person. Reservations are required, so please call Jeanne at 286-0327 to RSVP.

Annual Senior Holiday Gathering



Date: Tuesday, December 2nd
Time: 11:30am-3:00pm
Location: Bellport Country Club, 40 South Country Road, Bellport

The 2008 Annual Senior Holiday Gathering will be held at the Bellport Country Club on Tuesday, December 2nd from 11:30am-3:00pm. The event will include entertainment, prizes and Music by DES. You are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for “Toys for Tots.” The cost for this event is $30 per person. Reservations are required, so please call Jeanne at 286-0327 to RSVP. 
 

"Because We Care" Transportation Program

The "Because We Care" Transportation "VAN" is available Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm, on a first-call basis. It is available to drive seniors to medical appointments, grocery shopping and for other necessary uses. Call Bernard Butler or Louis Fuoco, their very able drivers, at 631-447-2873 to set up an appointment.
 

Fire Extinguishers and Trash Carriers

Village senior citizen residents, 62 years of age and older, can receive free fire extinguishers and trash cans with wheels for their residences.  Contact Jeanne Hollmann at the Village Hall at 631-286-0327 for more information.
 

Safety Tips

• Be sure to check the batteries in your smoke and carbon detectors.


• Lock the doors in your home and car for safety.


• Be careful giving out Social Security Numbers and Credit Card information.
