Welcome to the eighth season of South Country Concerts – Bellport’s very own classical music series.

South Country Concerts was founded by two internationally known Bellport musicians, soprano Deborah Birnbaum and cellist Laurinel Owen, with the mission to provide the highest quality concerts to South Shore residents.

Featuring an eclectic mix of classical repertoire in an intimate and informal setting, the series has an outreach to music lovers of all ages.

This season promises to be as exciting as ever…an eclectic mix of programs featuring world-class guest artists Michael Douglas Jones, international opera star; Steven Fayette, Double-Bass virtuoso; and the prize-winning flamboyant Brasil Guitar Duo, as well as, audience favorites: violinist Naho Tsustui, cellist Laurinel Owen and pianist/composer Richard Pearson Thomas.

Mozart composed extensively for the clarinet, a tradition continued by Beethoven and Brahms in their chamber music with cello and piano. Naomi Drucker, often guest with the New York Philharmonic, joins us.

Violinist Renee Jolles, from New York’s Orpheus Ensemble, and Susan Jolles harpist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Naumberg Prize winner will dazzle us with audience favorites. Renee Jolles is the concertmaster of New York's famed Orpheus Orchestra and her mother, Susan Jolles is a Naumberg Award winner and principal harpist for the American composer's Orchestra and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

The program includes: Bartok "Roumanian Dances"; Spohr "Sonata in C minor"; Debussy "Arabesques"; Saint-Saens "Fantasie for violin and harp" and Albeniz "Sevilla."
