Annual Events

Throughout the year, local organizations within the Village of Bellport organize and produce several annual events. With events such as the July 4th "Artists On The Lane" art show, the "Clipper Classic" 5K race, and the Holiday Tree Lighting and Parade, you are certain to find something happening all year round! Local Theatre

The Village of Bellport offers two fantastic options to see local theatre: The Gateway Playhouse and The Playcrafters Theatre Group.


The Gateway Playhouse is Long Island's only professional musical theatre. 2007 marks Gateway's 58th year of producing high class entertainment. Because of its longevity and reputation, they are able to attract a high caliber of professional directors, performers, musicians, and technicians from New York City, and around the country. Playcrafters is a not-for-profit Community Theatre Group. Since its inception in 1960, Playcrafters has strived to present the very best in amateur theatre and have encouraged interest in the performing arts by awarding Bellport High School Students' scholarships as they pursue their education in the
arts. They provide an outlet for local talent and offer reasonably priced tickets to our local and neighboring communities.

Film Screenings

The Bellport Film Society sponsors movie screenings during the Spring, Summer and Fall months. Films shown in the Spring and Fall are held at the Community Center, while summer films are held at the Village Marina. Library Activities

There are two public libraries in close proximity to the Village of Bellport. The South Country Library is in downtown Bellport, while the Brookhaven Free Library is just a short drive from the Village. Both hold many fun and interesting events throughout the year.

Brookhaven Free LibraryThe Brookhaven Free Library is a community minded, family oriented library that focuses on children's services, and provides access to timely information technology and current materials for adults in a variety of formats. Interested In The History Of The Bellport Area?

The Bellport-Brookhaven Historical Society is located at 31 Bellport Lane, right next to the Bellport Village Hall. It is a not-for-profit organization devoted to the preservation and interpretation of Long Island's past, and particularly the history of the Bellport, Brookhaven and East Patchogue area. The Society provides gallery exhibitions, museum exhibits and educational programs to the community, as well as hosting an exchange shop on the premises.
