European-trained Cordon Bleu Chef Taylor Alonso and his wife, Patricia Trainor set their sights on Bellport after years in Manhattan, England, and Washington, D.C. It was here that they opened The Bellport, located just steps away from the Gateway Playhouse. The Bellport serves up culinary delights, such as their much-heralded Jumbo Lump Louisiana Crabcakes, in a space decorated with art collected over the years by Taylor and Patricia. PORTERS on the lane features steaks and seafood and is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. There is also a Sunday Brunch and well known Sean Blakeslee has signed on as Chef. The atmosphere is decidedly nautical in flavor and the front porch, always a special place to dine, has also been completely redone.
